Babies And Toddlers Should Not Watch TV, Media Screens Say US Doctors.
One of the first thing public health nurses working in the community will look for when they visit a patients home, is weather or not the television is on and if it is the babysitter for the children…if so…not a good thing!
Personally, I have a “no daytime television rule” in my home, which means the TV does not go on until my nightly date with Lester Holt on NBC Nightly News at 530pm.
Television pollution is almost impossible to get away from. Hospitals, doctors offices, bars, gyms and airpots everywhere always have a television on. It makes me crazy!
When I was a flight attendant, it was habit for me NOT to turn on the television…I hate falling asleep in front of the thing and it’s so easy to get sucked in, I try to avoid it whenever possible.
There isn’t a television in my bedroom and at my house we don’t have cable, a remote control or a nice TV. We still use rabbit ears with our digital converter box. My son has gotten very good at adjusting the ears and standing just the right way to get the news…
My constant reminder to my daughter, the mother of 5 year old twins..is “turn the TV off!” It’s not good for the babies…
